Student moves in Coventry: halls, house shares and term-time moves
If you are moving between Coventry University halls, into a Canley house share, or shifting a Warwick second-year out of Leamington at the end of term, the logistics are not the same as a standard house move. Tight contract dates, narrow Victorian terraces, restricted parking around the city centre and the awkward summer gap between June check-out and September arrival all change the job.
We move students every term and we plan around those constraints rather than fighting them. Fixed-price quotes after a quick survey, careful handling, and a crew that turns up when we say we will. Mission first.
Whether you are a student doing your first move on your own, a parent driving up from down south to help, or a landlord clearing a property between tenancies, you get the same standard of service: clear communication from quote to completion, a plan you can trust, and the same crew on moving day.
What is included in our student removals service
Every student move we run includes:
- A free fixed-price quote after a short video or in-person survey, so you know the cost before we load the van
- Friendly, vetted crew with the right number of movers for your job, no last-minute swaps
- Modern vans sized to the move (Luton, 3.5t or 7.5t) with blankets, straps and trolleys onboard
- Goods in transit and public liability insurance as standard
- Furniture dismantling and reassembly (beds, desks, wardrobes) on request
- Packing materials and a packing service if you do not want to do it yourself
- Clear handling of parking and access — we deal with permits, loading bays and tight corridors so you do not have to
- 10% Blue Lights discount for armed forces, NHS and emergency services (and parents in those roles helping with the move)
If you need short-term storage between contracts, we can fold that into the same booking — see Student Storage below.
Student moves in Coventry: halls, house shares and term-time moves
Three things drive the cost of a student move:
- Volume — how much you are moving (a single mattress is a different job to a four-bedroom shared house)
- Distance — between addresses, and the time of day we can get loaded and unloaded given parking and access
- Date — peak student weeks (last week of June, second week of September, and the Warwick arrival weekend in late September) book up months ahead and carry surcharges. Weekends and bank holidays are also priced higher than midweek.
Because of that, we do not list flat per-hour or per-van rates. You get a fixed price after a quick video survey, and that price holds on the day — no creeping by-the-hour charges, no last-minute add-ons.
Tips that bring the cost down:
- Book early. Four to six weeks ahead is ideal for peak weeks.
- Move midweek if your contract dates allow it.
- Pack yourself if you can, and label boxes with your name and the room they go in at the new place.
- Ask about the 10% Blue Lights discount if you, your parent or a flatmate is armed forces, NHS or emergency services.
Student storage in Coventry: between terms and over summer
The summer gap is the bit most students get caught out by. Halls or term-time tenancy ends in late June or early July, the new place is not available until September, and you are sitting on a room's worth of stuff with nowhere to put it.
Our collect, store, deliver service is built for that:
- Collect — we pick up from your current address on the date your contract ends
- Store — your boxes and furniture sit in our secure Coventry storage facility for as long as you need (weeks or months)
- Deliver — we drop everything at your new address on the day your next tenancy starts
Storage is charged by the volume you actually use, not a flat per-room rate. You do not need to pay for a unit you are only half filling. Insurance covers your items while they are with us.
Useful when you are flying home for the summer, taking a placement abroad, or just do not want to drag a year's worth of kit back to your parents' house.
Our Coventry Student Removal Services
Popular student move options: single item to full room or flat
Single item move
A bed, a fridge, a sofa from a parent's house to halls. Two movers, a small van, in and out the same day. Best for moving one or two items between Coventry and the wider West Midlands.
Multi-stop runs
Two flatmates dropping at different addresses on the same route. Common at the end of summer term — we plan the order and only charge once for the day.
Room move
The classic student move. Boxes, bedding, clothes, kitchen kit, a desk and a chair. We bring a Luton van and two crew, and most jobs are loaded inside an hour.
Long-distance student moves
Coventry to London, Coventry to Manchester, Coventry to Bristol. We run dedicated long-distance routes, including a regular Coventry-to-London corridor, so it does not have to be a return-trip premium.
Full flat or house-share clear
Final-year leavers, full-house tenancies in Earlsdon or Leamington, or three or four flatmates moving on the same day. We can run a 3.5t or 7.5t van and a three-person crew where it speeds the day up.

Military Movers serves Coventry, Warwickshire and the West Midlands with a veteran-led team, and that review profile matters because verified reviews and Google reviews usually expose weak communication long before a company admits it.
